EXHEAT® has long seen strong demand for engineered heating systems from the UAE and surrounding region. The ADIPEC exhibition once again provided a platform to meet our valuable customers such as ADNOC® & its group companies, NPCC®, GPS®, Petrofac®, Technip®, Mott McDonald®, J R McDermott® and many others. Although some of our customers expressed concern over global financial crisis and its impact on capital investments in the oil & gas industry, the overall sentiment is a positive one.
The preference of using electrical heat in hazardous area applications such as glycol regeneration, gas heating and fuel oil heating versus traditional shell and tube heating is ever growing in the Middle East. Engineers recognise that although the power requirements may be somewhat higher, the lower installation costs, maintenance cost and smaller space requirements reduce the overall costs in many processes.
Although EXHEAT® mainly markets its Engineered Heating systems in the Middle East, visitors to the ADIPEC exhibition have also shown a lot of interest in the Industrial range of hazardous area heaters including air warmers, immersion heaters, enclosure heaters, fan heaters and smaller rated process heaters.
EXHEAT® would like to thank all those who have visited us at the stand during ADIPEC as well as our representative in the UAE, Al Mouzroui Trading & General Services L.L.C. for making this one of our most successful exhibitions of the year.
EXHEAT® has concluded another successful participation to the POWTECH Exhibition in Nurnberg, Germany. On display were a selection of air warmers, enclosure heaters, immersion and process heaters along with the associated controls. We would like to thank all those who visited our stand.
Although EXHEAT® enjoy a strong position in the German market for IECEx and ATEX Certified heaters and control systems, the trade fairs present an opportunity for our customers and distributors to review recent progress in product development. The recent launch of our HIH range of flameproof instrument transmitter enclosures proved to be a success with many visitors.
EXHEAT® will be exhibiting at ACHEMA 2009 in Frankfurt, Germany from 11 to 15 May.
EXHEAT® has proven its strong capability to provide electrical process heating solutions by extending its partnership with Vedanta Group at their Aluminium Smelter Expansion Project in the state of Orissa, India. Further to two systems (4 x 1400kW Heating systems complete with skids) supplied earlier in 2007, EXHEAT has clinched the order for another 3 systems ( 6 x 1400kW Heating systems with skids) to heat up heat transfer medium (HTM) and to keep constant the temperature of HTM circulating in the primary circuit of its Green Anode Plant.
EXHEAT's scope of work includes design, engineering, manufacturing, inspection & testing at works, shipment and site supervision of erection, testing and commissioning of the complete system. The system comprises of complete process heaters together with associated control systems and flow control loops. The systems will be delivered to site before the end of this calendar year.
Vedanta is FTSE100 metals and mining company. The US$$8.2b company has interests in India, Australia and Zambia.

Ethylene is the simplest alkene, as it contains a double bond ethylene which is called an unsaturated hydrocarbon or an olefin. Olefins have tremendous uses such as production of ethylene glycol, surfactants, detergents, glycol ether, and most common film applications such as packing, carrier bags and trash liners. To meet the ever increasing demand for ethylene, sharp increases in production facilities have been added globally, particularly in the downstream areas of petrochemical refineries.
Steam cracking is the most common way of producing Ethylene in the petrochemical industry. In this process, gaseous or light liquid hydrocarbons are heated to between 750°C and 950°C, inducing numerous free radical reactions, followed by immediate quench to freeze the reactions. This process converts large hydrocarbons into smaller ones and introduces unsaturation. Ethylene is separated from the resulting complex mixture by repeated compression and distillation.
Modern ethylene plants use Electric Regeneration Heater and Electric Hydro-regeneration Heaters. Ethylene reacts with halogens to produce halogenated hydrocarbons but the reactions would be very slow unless a suitable catalyst is used. Electric heaters are used to regenerate the catalyst used in this process. Typical heater applications are "Catalyst Reduction", "Catalyst Hot H2 stripping", "Catalyst Oxidation", "Reactivation" and "Reactivation - Burning". All these applications are high temperature (in excess of 550°C) and pressure drop critical in nature. EXHEAT® has expertise in designing such hazardous area Electric heaters and Control systems.
For any custom made hazardous area electric heaters and control solutions please don't hesitate to contact Fasi Rahman - Special Applications Sales manager.
